Wow, to read HIS STORY, in HIS OWN WORDS was something else。 All the way from his childhood to the army, to finding Meghan and starting their family。 There were certain points I had to read over again to understand why they were written within the book in the first place as I felt some things probably didn't need to be shared 👀 but I am grateful that I got the chance to read it and I feel I understand their decision even more now。 Wow, to read HIS STORY, in HIS OWN WORDS was something else。 All the way from his childhood to the army, to finding Meghan and starting their family。 There were certain points I had to read over again to understand why they were written within the book in the first place as I felt some things probably didn't need to be shared 👀 but I am grateful that I got the chance to read it and I feel I understand their decision even more now。 。。。more
Ana Atanasković,
God knows how much I have loved (and still do) Great Britain since childhood。 The matter in question is emotional-intellectual-practical affiliation and attachment。 It is impossible to fully describe love, but maybe I proved it by graduating in English language and literature。 Or through small contribution texts about Queen Elizabeth II and princess Diana。 Creative non-fiction in Agape Review mean a lot to me as well as a published poem of mine about Queen Elizabeth II in The Poet。As can be seen God knows how much I have loved (and still do) Great Britain since childhood。 The matter in question is emotional-intellectual-practical affiliation and attachment。 It is impossible to fully describe love, but maybe I proved it by graduating in English language and literature。 Or through small contribution texts about Queen Elizabeth II and princess Diana。 Creative non-fiction in Agape Review mean a lot to me as well as a published poem of mine about Queen Elizabeth II in The Poet。As can be seen from above mentioned, the love led me further to follow the happenings in the Royal family。 I especially followed the drama after the schism of 2020 which led me, after objective personal deep thinking, intuition check, personal experience consulting, combing through the facts and impressions of eyewitnesses and experts to stand by #teamWales, i。e。 by the Royal family。And now, here is the book Spare published by Penguin Random House and ghost-written by J。 R。 Moehringer, which I admit I have not read。 But I will give a review of it!The reason is simple – there were so many parts of the book published in the media, some in the newspapers, some in interviews and commentaries, some on social media, that an honest observer could get a grip of an impression。Furthermore, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, whose life has been portrayed in the book diligently tried to tell his version of the events before the book has been published, so some conclusions could be made even then。I will start with the compliments to the writer。 From what I saw, and from the confirmation of Lady Colin Campbell, whose judgement I trust, the non-fiction in question was written in quite high quality。The manner of writing is dynamic and bold, modern, the writing is open。 Sentences simply breathe good style。 It is sharp and poetic, brutal and symbolic, but yet, vivid。 For example:‘…Bads taken away before they could kill Goods。 I’d been trained to “other-ize” them, trained well。 “The style is something between non-fiction and fiction, a memoir written in a feature journalism manner with specific details。 Bravo for the writer! But here my praise stops。What we are witnessing both in the book and the interviews is that Prince Harry is a bitter, angry and jealous man, an individual full of complexes and still not healed。 He has been manipulated by Meghan Markle, but he is trying to manipulate others as well。 We see a person who has been gaslighted but, it seems, unfortunately, that he deserved it because he is trying to do the same to the whole world。The lies the duo from Montecito told have been proven many times, but they are endless, since fact-checkers keep finding incorrections and false information from the book as I speak! We may go back to the lie Meghan said when she claimed that senior members of the royal family hold exclusive right to one colour at one event and that’s why she decited to wear beige。 There are many photos that prove her wrong, and not photos of her, but of many female members wearing the same colour as the late Qween did! The last lie I saw (among billions of them) is her saying that she wore a dress when she first met Prince Harry and then there is in his book Spare he says she was wearing black sweater and jeans! The lies of the two of them make me sick! You must admit to Harry he had the determination to tell everything but someone should also tell him that some of his memories are not close to the truth。 And, also, someone should tell him that his wife is the greatest manipulator and gaslighter the world has seen in its recent history。 He will not believe it at first。 He would need months of proper therapy to get out of her clutches。One would ask me how I know that she is like that。 Well, I have eyes to see and ears to hear。 I see and hear statements, videos, grimaces and checked facts。 Also, as a HSP person I feel all of that。 And, one plus one always give two!The greatest shame in the book is what isn’t in there。 Namely, in the Oprah interview the two of them stated (indirectly but still clearly) that the British Royal house is racist。 Their try to defend themselves with the phrase given to them by their pr service (unconscious bias) is the most blatant gaslighting the world has ever seen。 And, guess what? The racism card has not been played in the book! So, what was the whole ado about? All I can say is that I hope the writer gets to write about a person more honest and less cheeky in his next project。https://samovoli。wordpress。com/2023/0。。。 。。。more

An important read, especially for those who believe the headlines in the media as it proves outright what nonsense they spread。 It enables you to put into context what’s sampled and edited together to make headlines and sell papers and make money。 Prince Harry comes across as a down to earth, loving husband and father who cares deeply for his family but just simply wants their love and support back。 If anything, it’s made me doubt whether the monarchy has a place in our society if it’s not willi An important read, especially for those who believe the headlines in the media as it proves outright what nonsense they spread。 It enables you to put into context what’s sampled and edited together to make headlines and sell papers and make money。 Prince Harry comes across as a down to earth, loving husband and father who cares deeply for his family but just simply wants their love and support back。 If anything, it’s made me doubt whether the monarchy has a place in our society if it’s not willing to move forward with the times。 。。。more

I absolutely loved that book。 I listened to the audiobook while waiting for my physical copy then continued listening and reading at the same time when I received it and I can say that I really enjoyed this book。It's his life, he's sharing his life story and it was heartbreaking, funny, a bit angering and messy, it was someone sharing part of his life。 Personally, as someone who lost people dear to my heart at a young age, I appreciated the deep honesty about grief, the long sorrow, sometimes I absolutely loved that book。 I listened to the audiobook while waiting for my physical copy then continued listening and reading at the same time when I received it and I can say that I really enjoyed this book。It's his life, he's sharing his life story and it was heartbreaking, funny, a bit angering and messy, it was someone sharing part of his life。 Personally, as someone who lost people dear to my heart at a young age, I appreciated the deep honesty about grief, the long sorrow, sometimes the hope that the one you love will come back then the realization that it won't happen and the devastating effect when that reality is to you。To me, this book is about grief and how to recover from it。 It's also about his life as royal or more likely how to survive as a secondary royal and how to finally learning to live as an actual person instead of being a random not necessary part of an institution。 I saw people saying he trashed his family, to me, he humanized them。 He truly and deeply loves them, if after this book you believe he hates them, then I don't know what to think about you or you ability to read then。 It's a sad story with an happy ending。 I usually don't leave reviews but for this one I did because the amount of vitriol in the comment is disheartening。 I think this app deserves better than that and potential readers who are not taken into a hate mindset deserve better too。 。。。more

2,5 ⭐️ I picked this book up purely out of curiosity。 Every coin has two sides and based on just one side, this book left me feeling that he’s not a spare, he’s a jealous, whiny, spoiled brat who still thinks everything has to be delivered to him on silver platter。 How can he be asking for respect and understanding from the others if he has none for them。 And his understanding of leaving private life private (and demanding privacy from the outside world) is also way off the course。

I hope this is the last time we have to hear/read this story。 Truly it seems like his life was full of trauma but this read like a diary (not in a good way) and was clear he needed therapy prior to 2016。

Ever since the Queen died, I started to get an interest in the royal family and some wild and funny excerpts I saw on twitter made me decide to read this book。 In that way it didn't really let me down but there were definitely some TMI points he could have kept to himself, like any mention of his D。 I almost didn't make it past the prologue。 It depicts a rather strange attachment to his "Mummy"。 It's clear he never got over her death, and that continued as a theme throughout the book。 I don't th Ever since the Queen died, I started to get an interest in the royal family and some wild and funny excerpts I saw on twitter made me decide to read this book。 In that way it didn't really let me down but there were definitely some TMI points he could have kept to himself, like any mention of his D。 I almost didn't make it past the prologue。 It depicts a rather strange attachment to his "Mummy"。 It's clear he never got over her death, and that continued as a theme throughout the book。 I don't think it became any less creepy, only you got used to it。 The paps were a terrifying presence in his life。 I can't imagine living like that。 Although the empathy is whittled down a bit by the fact that he wrote this book exposing some of his family's dirty laundry clearly without their consent and got millions of dollars for it。 He does often come across as lacking empathy, but perhaps that is partly a result of the role he was born into。 While he talked about the conservation of the habitat and animals in Botswana, he also jet-skied and had parties on boats there, which would not be great for the animals or habitat as it would disturb them。。。 He also really enjoyed shooting birds and such for fun (back in Britain)。 It all seemed a bit contradictory。 At the end of part 2 he mentions how he does not care about fashion and doesn't understand how anyone can care about it。 In the beginning of part 3 he really seems to enjoy talking about what Meghan wore - suddenly he seems to really be enjoying fashion! Overall, it came across as a very passive-aggressive memoir, but it was an interesting read。 。。。more

I actually give this book 3 and 1/2 stars。If is family cared about him all of this wouldn't happen, they are all narcissists and just care about their image and Megan was truly the scape goat for them and I'm glad they got out of it。I didn't like the fact he talked about his 'man hood' quite a lot, also I listened to the audio book of him narrating and the singing parts were horrendous。 He also says the word 'Spare' doesn't bother him but it does, you can tell in his voice。 I actually give this book 3 and 1/2 stars。If is family cared about him all of this wouldn't happen, they are all narcissists and just care about their image and Megan was truly the scape goat for them and I'm glad they got out of it。I didn't like the fact he talked about his 'man hood' quite a lot, also I listened to the audio book of him narrating and the singing parts were horrendous。 He also says the word 'Spare' doesn't bother him but it does, you can tell in his voice。 。。。more

Prince Harry's memoir feels honest and a bit raw。 The ghostwriting was superb。 Harry comes across as very vulnerable and you get the sense that he still is very wounded by his upbringing and the current rift with his family。 As you might expect, the press / paparazzi are an ever-present theme throughout。 Prince Harry clearly deplores them, but his memoir gives the reader a much deeper understanding of his (completely justified) feelings toward them。 What did surprise me was the relationship betw Prince Harry's memoir feels honest and a bit raw。 The ghostwriting was superb。 Harry comes across as very vulnerable and you get the sense that he still is very wounded by his upbringing and the current rift with his family。 As you might expect, the press / paparazzi are an ever-present theme throughout。 Prince Harry clearly deplores them, but his memoir gives the reader a much deeper understanding of his (completely justified) feelings toward them。 What did surprise me was the relationship between Harry and "Willy。" While clearly their relationship is very much strained now, this memoir gives the impression (despite a few denials by Harry), that it has always been strained - filled with sibling rivalry, jealousies, and even pettiness。I enjoyed hearing from Harry about his experience in the Army and his experiences in Africa。 Being in the army seemed like a time when he was really content。 And it is clear that his love for Africa is genuine。 As to the leaks that came out prior to publication, after reading the book, (most of, if not all of) the leaks were definitely taken out of context。 The book did not feel salacious; if you're looking for loads of royal gossip, this isn't the book for you。 If you're looking for one man's account of how it feels growing up in a fishbowl with a cold family and doing his best to overcome that and create, with his wife and kids, the kind of family he didn't have, then read on。 No doubt his family has different recollections about some of the events in the book, but these are Harry's feelings and they are undoubtedly very real to him。 。。。more

It's difficult to not feel some kind of sympathy towards Harry and Meghan for everything they went through。 It's sad that the relationship between Harry and William is so bad。Some of his troubles do feel relatable, in as much as relatable one might find one's life compared to a royal family member。 The thing is, be it mistakes or any moments, everything in his life is blown up for the whole world to see。 Some people would say that that's the price to pay for being in a prominent family。 But wher It's difficult to not feel some kind of sympathy towards Harry and Meghan for everything they went through。 It's sad that the relationship between Harry and William is so bad。Some of his troubles do feel relatable, in as much as relatable one might find one's life compared to a royal family member。 The thing is, be it mistakes or any moments, everything in his life is blown up for the whole world to see。 Some people would say that that's the price to pay for being in a prominent family。 But where's the limit? This is Harry's story。 It lines up with a lot of what we have heard over the years。 I hope telling his truth gives him the peace he so obviously seeks。 The insights into how the "Firm" works is interesting and appears to show a family struggling to stay relevant。 The press always portrayed William as the one who most resembled and honored their mother but it appears Harry is the one who took the lessons to heart。 This is Harry's story。 It lines up with a lot of what we have heard over the years。 I hope telling his truth gives him the peace he so obviously seeks。 The insights into how the "Firm" works is interesting and appears to show a family struggling to stay relevant。 The press always portrayed William as the one who most resembled and honored their mother but it appears Harry is the one who took the lessons to heart。 。。。more
